About us

A youth organisation built around what young people ask for

Since 2015 we have given young people aged 8 to 25 in Nuneaton a safe, social and creative place to grow up. We are now a registered charity, number 1219667.

Our story

Aspire in Arts started in 2015 to give young people in Nuneaton somewhere that fitted around their lives, including those who could not get to other youth projects.

More than a decade on, over 250 young people come through our doors every week, and every room in our building was designed from their ideas.

Our building

When we moved into the old Co-op on Abbey Street, the vault was a dumping ground and the gym was derelict. Every room since has been designed from young people's requests.

During the work we found a 1912 Co-operative Bank book under the floorboards. The vault is now a podcast studio. Amtico donated flooring, and volunteers from CAVA and Hampton by Hilton Nuneaton restored the staircase tiles.

We have used about a quarter of the building so far. The historic Assembly Hall is next.
